Mikayla had such a fun time up in Seattle with my family. She loved going on walks with Grandpa and Grandma.
We took an evening walk over to see the newest addition to their family.

Mikayla loved the Puppies (a little too much...but luckily we were there to help out)
The Momma of these Golden Retrivers had her first littler... 12 puppies!!!!

3 Girls and 9 Boys! Ryan picked out a Girl. Here she is! how cute!

I would be crazy to take one home because I know how big they get! But they were definately tempting because of how cute and little they are right now!

I realized this past blog that I haven't put enough videos up lately. Mikayla is on the Go so I don't have much time to snap the cute pictures! Also a good hint for these videos is to minimize the window when you click on the link (the videos are not that clear)

The first video is a few seconds of her in the bath. She seems to enjoy the camera lately so she didn't sing like normal..but she is still funny.... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2776790030214970061&hl=en

The next two...you have to play in order ...We had a huge rain storm so our backyard got quite flooded in spots...Mikayla decided to help the situation out by sitting in a puddle and drinking it! YUmmy! Play this first: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7717937639991403034&hl=en

Play this Second: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4497776352988473943&hl=en

The last one was requested by Grandpa Thompson...I purchased some squeaky sandals for her yesterday for our trip so she LOVES these shoes....

Mikayla and I are leaving in a few days for a 3 week trip to Seattle so Off for some fun...and oh wait I can't forget the Alaskan Cruise in the middle of that w/ Jonathan's Fam as well!!!! Fun stuff.

Happy 4th....5th....and wait its already the 17th of July!

Happy Summer!

5 things that have happened this month:

5. Fireworks! We saw REAL 4th of JULY Fireworks! Legal and Illegal ones! Mikayla was quite intrigued by the illegal ones our neighbors were doing because she would hear the crash sound and that would scare her...then she would see these great bright lights. The dogs...well scared to death of course!

4. Lots of Playing outside. Mikayla has learned that things don't just disappear so she knows where her bubble toys are and wants to play with them at least 5 times a day!

Grandpa if this isn't the face.....Well its pretty close to it!

This is of course after Jonathan threw the hose in the pool and it hit Mikayla- He got in trouble by me so I made him pick her up while she was all wet...wet soggy diaper, clothes and all!...and this is how he repays me...nice... *** I had to take out this picture.....so don't worry he'll get his!

3. Mikayla got to meet my best friend Carole, and her two cute kids Emiline & Shane. I already miss them! **** picture to be inserted soon**

2. Mommy Changing tons of lovely #3's (liquid poo) Mikayla got some sort of bug!
Muffins Yummy...Mommy's first attempt at blueberry muffins from scratch..not too bad!

Popsicles always a must in this heat!

1. Trouble of course! We always get into lots of trouble. Yes I'm a grown up but I don't really care if I am having fun with my baby! We were shopping in Wal-Mart and Mikayla started playing the yelling game..and of course I yelled back...so there was -the old lady giving us the crusty "I can't stand kids" look....and the young man who thought I was pretty funny (or I am not sure what else he was thinking). Anyways I told Jonathan I am going to be the Mom sliding down the stairs with the kids and throwing the food across the dinner table. Why not? Life is too short to take it serious all the time!
Drawer climbing....Eat your heart out Uncle Adam! I can climb now too! Fun stuff!

Oh yeah I'm not sure if I ever posted this because I've been a lot more busy since...but Mikayla is walking lots and learning how to run as well.

I never knew how much trouble she was until those little feet started moving faster! Our Puppies even hide from her!

As for Jonathan and I -we are having so much fun enjoying every second of this little girl! We also are having fun with our new Wii Nintendo and of course just relaxing when Mikayla is asleep. Ahhh the quiet!

Mikayla and the Fake Wallet...she thinks this is my wallet I use when we go shopping....so she likes to sneak around with it! and take it outside- as she is about to do here.

This last picture is for Auntie Bree - don't worry I cleaned these up today...but aren't they cute!

Summer Heat! UMMM okay....

The top 5 things I miss about Canada are......

1. The most beautiful summer days...and nights -midnight walks when its just starting to get dark!

2. It rarely gets really hot!..... the heat is killing me! I am glad we didn't move down in the summer or I wouldn't be able to handle it!

3. Chinese Food....is wayyyyyyyy better up there....in fact any type of Ethnics food (minus the Mexican food of course) is soooo good. Like our favorite place... Cilantro for some amazing food!

4. There is enough diversity that I don't feel like I am white bread stuck in the middle of a wonder bread loaf...that is frozen of course ...and then thawed - gotta love the Utah Mormons!

5. The amazing friends that we had...that we miss all the time...wondering if Shannon found any more random rude people at Tim Horton's....or if Tanya is going to find Teo doing any crazy toilet tricks....or Amanda finding Walker or Jackson getting into mischief! or of course our Work friends who every day found a way to tell us how many days there were until the Stampede.

And to make you laugh....here is the explanation of this video. I was trying to teach Mikayla to be quiet in Church one day...so when she started screaming like normal...I patted her mouth so it made sort of an Indian noise....like ma-ma-ma-ma.... so she thought it was funny and before I knew it she started her own way of doing this....with food in her mouth....and of course some dancing while she's eating..... I have been trying to capture this for a few weeks now- so I am glad I had my camera out at good old Village Inn...

Well Mikayla is walking soooo much now. I can't believe that in just a few short days she is now walking instead of crawling everywhere! Because of this...she now loves the backyard. She loves playing in the puppies water....and caring things around (like our nice spoons) to find dirt clots!!!! YUmmmy!

Having fun with a little visit from Uncle Ryan...who she has always taken a liking too!...and of course for another laugh...Ryan isn't use to the UV rays so High so I put some sunscreen on his back while he was helping Jonathan with some yard work.....as you can see I think I missed a spot!

Yes I actually am doing an update!

So onto a new month and of course Mikayla is now walking!....of course if she wants to get around fast she prefers to crawl but she has been trying to walk everywhere she can.

We got some new shoes for her today....Pumas of course! her first real shoes!.....so Auntie Bree will be very proud of her!

Also she has become so much fun lately....here are a few pictures from the past few days.

Jonathan is still having tests done for this crazy illness he has so we have been trying to keep occupied in other ways (besides me having time on the computer). I finally realized today that I miss doing this because its my way to vent...and chat to my very very missed friends back in Calgary!!!!!

As you can see- Mikayla has become a handful very quickly...I can just imagine how crazy she would be if she was a boy!!!! Thank goodness for little girls!.... This last picture shoes her lovely teeth....cheeeeeese!

Un-Crappy Birthday to Me!

So to put it bluntly it seems that every year I end up having something crazy happen...last year was an unusual one because I was recovering from having Mikayla...but this year.... crazy all around.

Jonathan had the opportunity to go to Australia for work. He seemed to be doing okay when he got there but just had a bit of blotchy swollen legs from the flight. He emailed me a few times telling me that he was having these crazy stomach pains and finally went to an ER down there. So he went and was given a bunch of pain medicine but no answer to why he was feeling so yucky. He flew back to the USA 6 days later and when he got into California he called to tell me that his blotchy legs were now this horrible rash and that if people saw it he wouldn't be allowed to fly home. I picked him up at the airport in SLC and asked him to show me some of this lovely rash......

Well I brought him home and met his Step-Dad who is an ER Doctor...and told us to go get some test done. The freak rash on his legs was also going on in his stomach. So my sweetheart was in a lot of pain and incredibly jet-lagged! He was given some pain medicine and sent home by this time it was May 21....So I decided to forgo being happy I was a year older...and realized Jonathan was not doing so well. We had planned a trip to Seattle the next day so I was on the phone with Doctors....and Airlines for most of the morning. Cancelling flights and trying to get him to see a specialist ASAP.

So to make this more stressful long story (that is still ongoing)short...We re-booked the trip and went to Seattle for a fun little vacation.

My little brother Adam and his girlfriend Heather were there as well so we had a fun few days with most of the fam.....of course we were missing our "Braddie" the whole time but hopefully he can come next time!

This is Mikayla and Me and Deception Pass right outside of where my Mom grew up on Whidbey Island Washington.

Mikayla and Uncle Ryan in the Cold Northwestern waters....the first time in the Ocean!

And of course the Happy Family...I loved this day because the weather was perfect!

Happy Birthday To Mikayla!

I can't believe its been a year! I am honestly overwhelmed with emotion thinking of how much time has gone by with our little Mikayla here with us. Jonathan and I are so happy to have her in our lives and couldn't image our life together with out her! She makes us smile, dance, cry, name the emotion...she has some how helped us have that! So I want to share with you a few things that make Mikayla the unique puzzle piece that fits our little family!

*Mikayla's Laugh- when helping "get the puppies"

*Mikayla's Dance- every single time she watches Backyardigans

*Mikayla's Smile- when ever she sees Mommy or Daddy!

She came into this world May 8, 2007 purple, and the first sign of life she the Doctors was peeing on them! As soon as I held her she stopped crying. We had a few eventful days in the hospital and we were so happy to have her home healthy and snugly! She has grown so much and she is learning new things every day. We love you Mikayla and hope you know you are the most beautiful to us and Mommy and Daddy love you so much! Happy 1 year!

Another new Dress....man are we spoiled!....or wait maybe we are just growing a lot!
Mikayla is such a trooper every Sunday. Our church time is right when she usually takes a good 2 hour nap so she can get pretty naughty by the end of the 3 hours! So when we got home and I wanted to take a picture of this cute outfit she wasn't having so much fun with it...but hey I got the dress in the picture!

Mikayla loves to stand under the kitchen table now and stare out the backdoor window. I think its like a little fort for her or something. The fun part is going to be when she is too tall to fit under there and she still tries to. The other fun part is when she is old enough to know how to build a fort and Mommy and Mikayla will "hide" under there to be sneaky..he he he!

Okay I have been trying to get a good video to put on her of our cute little bug dancing. From our friends up in Canada we learned about the Backyardigans....well I played the show for her a couple of times and she seemed to love it. So when I started dancing with her she would dance any time music that she liked was on. One day Jonathan and I put on the show so we could try and plant some starters for our garden and she didn't notice the show was coming on until the opening music came on.....hence the cute little dance..... Jonathan puts this on at least once a day to watch her get soooo excited about her show. so here it is.....

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8088647089932772970&hl=en

Sometimes she dances the whole time the song is going and other times she is a little distracted...so the first is a little more active-

This movie is from this morning she loves just trying to watch the characters and move around like them. So cute-

I was reading a friends blog and she happened to mention she wished that people updated their blogs more.....sooooo I know I can totally do a better job of that. Of course taking the pictures also helps! So here is a little more of an update of us.

When Jonathan and I were first married we watched the movie Matilda....and on that show there is a little girl that has pigtail braids that end up getting her in trouble by the mean Miss Trunchbowl Principal. So he told me...that our girls will "NEVER" have pigtails like that. So I have to start being creative since Mikayla is growing a little more hair. so here is my latest creation of her hairdo- of course it started out as a foehawk and then sort of layed over...so when it gets a bit longer I'll probably start using hairspray!

The other fun thing she likes to do is brush her teeth. I don't think that she is really "brushing" its more of a "chewing" but either way....eat your heart out Dentists of the US! She has the best of both worlds being health conscience by brushing her teeth and being "horrible" as my Canadian Dentist told me- for having a pacifier "Binky".

Mikayla and I went to Seattle for a week to hang out with my family. I will get some more pictures on here of that trip...I realized I was pretty horrible of taking them. Mikayla went to her first Aquarium in downtown Seattle and we all knew she loved it when she started waving her arms around and kicking her legs like it was fun. She also had a fun time at lunch at my parents favorite Ivars Salmon pulling the napkin & silverware off the table....and pooping through almost her entire outfit! What an eventful day! So we took it pretty easy the rest of the days and had fun shopping with Grandma at the Outlet Mall which I love! Mikayla scored some very cute outfits and so Grandma wanted her to do a fashion show before we left so she could see them on her. I totally forgot that we used to do that as kids. My brothers and I would come home from shopping and try on all of our brand new clothes to show Mom and Dad. So..the Tradition continues!

As you can see she is pretty happy for the first outfit....very cute of course...

Second outfit just as cute....but a little more tense...

My favorite outfit...and of course you will see these later this summer when she gets a little bigger!

Again outfit number 3.

As you can see the outfits become a bit harder for her to want to change into...but still very cute.

If we could only read Mikayla's mind when I told her that we were done playing dress up for the day.

I hate to brag....but -

The flight home Mikayla was the best baby on the plane! I tried to schedule our flights around her nap so she would possibly sleep on the flight..and wa-la- it worked! So she was very easy and out of 10 babies...she probably fussed for about 10 seconds! Meanwhile...when we got back home she was back to her normal Trouble!

WE usually put the dog cage away during the day so that Mikayla doesn't play in it...but we hadn't done that yet...so I went out of range of her and came back to her inside Addie's cage. The only worry I have is...that she doesn't act like a dog when she gets older because she's around these crazy pups all the time!

WEll I'll post more tomorrow (possibly)

I was reading a friends blog and she happened to mention she wished that people updated their blogs more.....sooooo I know I can totally do a better job of that. Of course taking the pictures also helps! So here is a little more of an update of us.

Mikayla is starting to do really well around other people- I wish she would have been like this when she was younger! So Mommy could hang out with her Canadian friends more often!
I asked Jonathan to watch Mikayla while I took a quick shower...and I was wondering what was going on because it was so quiet when I was finished. I came out to find these two snugglers and it just made me smile. So cute!
ANd yes...we did sort of try to take a family picture at Easter...so here is the best mug shot we could get before the Battery died!

And yes...Mikayla loves her Auntie Charlotte and Uncle Crazy Paul.
