WEll as you can see we haven't updated our blog in quite a while so I thought you might like an update of what the Bakers are up to....
We have packed up and left Calgary as of this weekend and are moving back down to the U.S.of A. So we have been packing and ....thanks to Jonathan (the crazy working bee) cleaned the townhome and is still on the road with the puppies...our stuff...and my Daddio. So Back to Utah we go for another chapter of our life! WE purchased our first home and are excited to get in and feel like home again! Mikayla is doing well...still has a crazy cough but she is scooting on her belly and smiling lots! She will be crawling in no time! I am on a different computer than normal so I'll update this with pictures of our new house....and of course Mikayla in a few days when we have internet again. We hope to stay in touch with our Canadian friends .... I will miss them more than they'll ever know! Off to bed and up for another day of getting the house ready for move-in.

The Christmas Cold...

Still living of course!

WE had a wonderful visit with my entire family in Seattle this past week for Christmas! Unfortunately with that came the Christmas Cold....that was past from one brother to the next to the husband and the worst.....the baby! So Mikayla now has the most snot I've ever seen from a child but luckily this is her first real "sickness" so we have been very blessed. So Mom has also not gotten any sleep and I will write and share our trip pictures when I have a little more time. WE hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and are getting ready for a New and hopefully not to adventurous Year!

December is going by so quickly. WE are off to the USA again next week for Christmas so I want to share our fun couple of weeks so far in December.

Mikayla is now 7 months old and we still can't believe she is this big! She is such a happy baby most of the time that we are very lucky and blessed to have this little angel in our lives! She is still teething so her occasional crying is not so bad. Corrina and Addie have become Mikayla's new excitement so she gets so happy when she sees them both! I have to say she is a little more excited to touch and be around Addie...I think because he is smaller than her....but sadly enough she also doesn't understand what "gentle" means so Addie being the cranky moody dog he is only will sit close enough to get a light tap from Mikayla. On the other hand Mikayla is a little more shy around Corrina...but Corrina seems to understand that Mikayla wants to pet her so she is all about the attention (go figure!) So this also means that Mikayla gets the random Italian Paw...luckily Daddy or Mommy are always there to catch the paw before it does any damage. All three of us went to a baby Christmas Party hosted by another family that was in our Maternity Class. There are 7 ladies that Mikayla and Mommy have hung out with and so we thought it would be fun to see how grown up all the babies were. Of course Mikayla wanted nothing to do with the change of environment and let Mommy and Daddy know this for the first 15 minutes of being at our friends house. But once she settled down she saw Santa for the first time....that lasted about 20 seconds...then of course back to Mommy.

It has been quite cold since we've been back here in Calgary and our house never seems to be warm enough (to Mikayla and Mommy!)

Mikayla has somehow gotten hooked on the Jazz as well (Gee I wonder why?) but she supposedly is good luck because she was born during the Finals last season. Lucky for Daddy- Mikayla doesn't mind watching the games....Not so sure of Football though (Uncle Paul still thinks she is a Ute fan....even if they didn't win this year!)

I can't forget the most important news of this week....Mikayla is sitting up on her own now! She had her first "ouchy boo-boo" today though because she is like a little tippys cup and fell forward because she hasn't figured out that her hands can catch her yet...but no bruises yet...just a very upset Mikayla for about 10 mins....poor little thing!

Daddy Graduated!!!!!!

I thought that Jonathan deserved a separate post of his graduation because we are so proud of him. The past 3 years here in Calgary Jonathan has worked full time and gone to school full time to finish his degree! He is one of the few up here in Calgary that has attempted both at the same time.....and have a marriage! So we were very excited to go to his graduation ceremony in November.

Mikayla and Julie went to Seattle at the very end of October....since then they have taken two trips and have only been home a few short weeks. Mommy is now getting time to get some pictures up so here is the month in review...

So Mikayla has now taken two round trip plane rides... eaten vegetables, fruits and turkey... and is starting to want to sit up on her own! She is so much fun. Jonathan and I had the best laugh with her the other night and the little stinker was laughing because we were. So a good laugh session did all three of us some belly exercise! She is getting so big so quick...so I'll try and be better about getting things updated on here. I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. Now onto December!

Thank goodness for warm days like today!

Today we had a nice warm sunny day and Mikayla went to the park for the first time (well the first time actually able to do anything). She had her first real baby swing ride and was smiling the whole time-hopefully that means that she liked it!

She has had a hard time lately having me feed her cereal so I thought maybe she needed a few more weeks before she started real food. I actually think its because she wants to be able to feed herself instead of being fed! So she had a teething cookie today and she loved it! She is getting more wiggly now and when she doesn't want to do something like sit in her swing or if she wants to sit up instead of lay down she starts crying and kicking her legs like she is having a mini temper tantrum. The good part is that Daddy and Mommy can laugh at this right now! Hopefully we'll be able to do the same in the future when she has the full out tantrums! Mikayla and Mommy went to pick up Daddy at work today and Mikayla was a little fussy so Mommy turned on the radio...and she stopped crying and started talking-like she was singing along with the music. A little singer is on the rise....watch out American Idol!

I have to brag about the beautiful Flowers Jonathan gave me the other day. I love suprise flowers!!!!

The months seem to be going by so quickly so here is another update of our cute little Mikayla.

Mikayla loves Mommy but is definately a Daddy's Girl! When he comes home in the evenings she loves to talk to him and she just babbles on and on...its the cuttiest thing ever. Today Daddy and Mikayla were having a chat Mikayla just started laughing like crazy....so here it is

We went to the Mall today for some Saturday shopping. Daddy and Mikayla were waiting for Mommy outsite the dressingroom and Mikayla was discovering herself in the mirror....more than ever before and she touched the mirror like it was another little girl- Daddy had a good laugh out of that.

Happy 5 Months old (Well Almost..)

Mikayla had her first rice cereal a few days ago....and I got it on film.

She loves it! More is on her face than in her tummy but I'm know it only gets messier from here!

She also had her first roll over on her own yesterday (Wednesday October 4th!) I was at a friends house and she all of a sudden pushed over and I clapped and started saying "yay" and she looked at me like "what did I do?" she is such a good baby and we are so happy to have this little girl in our lives!

Mikayla had a Build'a'Bear Puppy made -she had no idea was was going on but Mommy and Daddy had fun making it! & Daddy has a fun sound in it to remind Mikayla to give her puppies "snacks" and it is named "Rina the Noni" (for Corrina the Spinone)

Mikayla chilling on the way back on the short part of journey home. We stopped in Cardston at the Temple and sat out on the grass and relaxed for a bit. She was so happy to be out of her Carseat! only 3 hours left after that and we were finally home. So happy to be in our beds! and to get our puppies back. Sadly enough our puppies weren't so excited to see us because they had a nice big yard to run around in from our friends house that so graciously watched them.


Mikayla 4 weeks old! the day after her shots....and seems to be doing much better. Her legs have a little "ouchy" soreness to them but other than that she is her happy self!
